This course offers various live presentations emphasizing creativity and performance. Activities include individual, duet, and group exercises such as storytelling, reader's theatre, choral reading, poetry and improvisations. Three class hours per week. Credit: Three semester hours.

Development of practical Spanish communication skills for the health care employee including medical terminology, greetings, common expressions, commands, and phrases and questions necessary to carry out specific health care procedures and to facilitate the physical assessment of a Spanish speaking patient. Discussions, visiting speakers and outside assignments will also cover cross-cultural issues pertinent to relationships between non-Hispanic health care staff and the Hispanic/Spanishspeaking community members. Two class hours per week. Credit: Two semester hours.

Prerequisites: BIOL 1406; BIOL 2401; BIOL 2421; HITT 1301. Corequisites: SRGT 1405; SRGT 1409. Ninety-six total contact hours in clinical setting. Credit: Two semester hours.

Emphasis on surgical procedures related to the general, OB/GYN, genitourinary, and orthopedic surgical specialties incorporating instruments, equipment, and supplies required for safe patient care. Prerequisites: SRGT 1405; SRGT 1409; SRGT 1261. Corequisites: SRGT 2461. One hundred sixty total contact hours. Credit: Five semester hours.
