Examines basic statistics used and interpreted in healthcare settings. Topics include: measurement scales, probability, principles of testing and error, sampling, correlation, and nonparametrics. Focus is on application, interpretation, and presentation of statistics from peer-reviewed journals, reports, and other healthcare documents. Satisfies statistics requirement for BSN program.

A clinical practicum providing the opportunity for the RN student to apply and practice assessment skills and techniques. This practicum can be challenged for credit when the RN student has professional experience and expertise in the performance of holistic health assessment, complete health histories, physical examinations and health promotion with individuals across the life span. A study of the function of the human body as it is altered by and responds to disease, including disease manifestations, mechanisms of disease production and response, and the physiological basis of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Course provides an introduction to the field and coverage of those diseases not confined to a single body system. Prerequisites: Biology 2423, Biology 2424, Biology 2411

This course is a 90 clock-hour practicum providing the RN student an opportunity to apply the nursing process to care for a community in order to assess their health needs and collaboratively plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care. Provides the student the opportunity to evaluate research studies for applicability of the findings in nursing intervention as well as to apply the basic steps of the research process to a project of his/her choice. Prerequisites: NUR 2337 or 4337, Math 3321, or Psy 2321

Current theories of management, leadership, and change are explored and related to the nursing process in organizing and providing health care to individuals, families, groups, community, and society. The student will apply management theory to nursing practice. Prerequisites: RN Licensure

Presents an analytical approach to evaluating clinical problems, searching the scientific literature, and critically appraising research studies. Students use principles of leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration to apply current scientific evidence to selected practice settings as part of a research utilization project to improve patient care.
