This course is a preparatory course for CHEM 1311.

Prerequisites / Corequisite Corequisite: CHEM 2325 Syntheses and analysis of products corresponding to functional group chemistry covered in CHEM 2325. Qualitative analysis of organic compounds and mixtures using previously learned techniques.

Prerequisite: Instructor consent Integrates on-campus study with practical hands-on work experience in Chemistry. The individual student will set specific goals and objectives in the study of inanimate objects, processes of matter and energy and associated phenomena. Hours (2 sem hrs; 1 lec, 5 hrs work/week).

Basic chemistry concepts from organic point of view, IUPAC nomenclature, structure and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and haloalkanes, stereochemistry and spectroscopic techniques.
