An integrated study of the functional areas of finance, marketing, and management with emphasis on case analysis, readings, and computer simulations. Prerequisites: BADM 315 and 361 and ECON 301. Offered spring term each year.

An integrated study of the functional areas of finance, marketing, and management through a series of readings, lectures, and case analyses. This study of corporate and business level policy and strategy making is developed using a top management perspective. A comprehensive final project requiring significant research and case analysis is presented at the conclusion of the course. Prerequisites: BADM 315B, 401B, and ECON 301B. It is strongly suggested that students complete all other courses in the major prior to Business Strategy as this capstone course integrates the entire curriculum. Offered Term Four.

A study of the principles and applications of long-term care administration, including general management, environmental management, patient care, personnel management, and government regulations. Offered fall term alternate years.

A focus on the application of analytical skills of policy formation in the health professions. The course focuses on analyzing the processes in the design, adoption, implementation, and evaluation of current health policy. Recent political and ethical issues relating to health care policy are examined. Offered spring term alternate years.

A practicum experience which involves the student in a position in business under adequate supervision for the joint purposes of learning about business and possible occupational choices. Prerequisite: consent of major professor.

A course focused on the complex and dynamic global environment of commerce and economics and those issues necessary to understand the implications of economic globalization upon the business enterprise. Topics such as international trade and exchange, the impact of political, social, and cultural differences upon a business, the growing influence of market unification, as well as the pros and cons of free vs. constrained international trade are studied. The significance of globalization from a Christian perspective is examined.

An examination of the influence of global, remote, and industrial environmental characteristics upon policy-making and administration of organizations. Emphasis is placed upon the gathering and analysis of information from a wide variety of sources dealing with external factors such as political, economic, social, ethical, and cultural issues affecting the business enterprise. This first phase of strategic management is later considered against an internal analysis of the business firm's strengths and weaknesses. The strategic management process is completed during the "Strategic Management - Application" course.

An examination of the use of scientific methods in the formulation and solution of marketing management problems. Emphasis is on the use of marketing research as a critical component of the marketing strategy and policy formulation process. This course presents methods and techniques used in planning, collection, processing, and utilizing marketing information. The course addresses marketing and management issues through extensive use of case studies and individual and group projects.

This course examines the development of marketing strategy at the business unit level and its connection with corporate strategy. Emphasis is given to opportunity analysis, competitive evaluation, and marketing strategy design and revision.
