Description: This course will explore the principles of insurance. It will include an analysis of risk and strategies to eliminate, minimize or transfer risk. Students will become familiar with the key components of life, accident and health insurance policies as well as property and casualty insurance. Notes: Offered in spring and fall. Prerequisites: FINC 311 with a grade of C- or better. All FINC courses numbered above 299 have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.00 and a grade of C- or better in HMXP 102.

Description: Students will learn the various group insurance and retirement programs offered by employers. Students will also become familiar with employee stock option plans and retirement needs analysis. Strategies to meet one's retirement goals and objectives will be covered. Notes: Offered in spring and fall. Prerequisites: FINC 311 with a grade of C- or better. Description: This course introduces students to financial technology. It covers the application of technology in financial services, commercial banking, investment banking, digital investing, financial advising, algorithmic trading, and insurance. Notes: Offered periodically.

Description: The objective of this course is to provide students with real-world experience in security analysis and portfolio management and prepare students for the Securities Industry Essential Exam (SIE). Students will collectively be responsible for the investment decisions of the fund, the overall portfolio composition, and the utilization of numerous financial models used to assess sector, industry and individual security strength/weakness in their decision-making. Each student will be required to perform the necessary quantitative and qualitative work using Morningstar Direct and the Bloomberg terminal. Students will be required to demonstrate knowledge of financial products, risks, the structure and regulation of the financial industry by taking the SIE examination. Prerequisite: Students must have completed or concurrently enrolled in FINC512 or with permission of the instructor or financial planning program director. Notes: Offered in fall, spring, and summer.

In this course, students will gain experience in analyzing financial data using statistical software, statistical methods, and prediction models. Notes: Offered fall, spring, and summer.

Description: This course covers the same material as FREN 101 at a slightly faster pace, and is thus ideal for (but not limited to) students who have some previous background in the language. It emphasizes the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Prerequisite: Permission of department chair. Notes: Successful completion of this course (C- or higher) makes students eligible for FREN 112, which fulfills the language requirement for many programs in the College of Arts and Sciences.Lab Offered in fall, spring, and summer.
