ENTR 473: Entrepreneurial Finance (3).

Description: The course focuses on acquiring funds to finance the startup and growth of a venture. It covers various financing methods and mechanisms available to entrepreneurs such as bootstrapping, angel investors, private placements, venture capital, debt financing, and others. Conventions for firm valuation and initial public offerings are also explored. Students construct a break-even analysis, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and financial projections for a startup business through a group consulting project. Corequisite: ENTR 579. Prerequisites: ENTR 373 and ACCT 280. All ENTR courses have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102. Notes: Offered in spring.
