Description: This course is designed to teach students how to link formative and summative assessment with instruction. Prerequisite: SPED 281 Introduction to the Special Education OR SPED 681 Educational Implications for the Exceptional Individual. Notes: Students must attain a grade of C or higher in this course. Course may not be taken on a S/U basis. Offered fall, spring, and summer.

Description: Students will learn how to exercise professional judgment and ethics when working with students with disabilities and the importance of actively pursuing opportunities for professional growth as special educators. Description: The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the multiple components of the sport industry. All major segments of the industry will be covered, giving the student a strong orientation to the overall industry. Major concepts to be studied will include a background of the industry, business aspects for sport management, various segments of the industry, and professional preparation for a career in the sport industry. Notes: Lab Fee: $90. Offered in fall and spring.

Ethics applied to sport business and ethical decision-making will also be a focus of the course. Prerequisites: SPMA Major, Grade C- or better in SPMA 101. Notes: Offered in fall, spring, and summer.

Description: The examination of the organization, management, and evaluation of sport facilities. Specific emphasis will be placed upon stadium/arena financing, venue management, operations of sport venue, bidding process, marketing, and risk management policies and procedures. Prerequisite: SPMA Major, Grade of C- or better in SPMA 101. Notes: Offered in fall and summer.

Description: The examination of the organization, management, and evaluation of sporting events. Specific emphasis will be placed upon the economic impact of sporting events, the event bidding process, the event planning process, event logistics, event evaluation, marketing, and risk managment policies and procedures. Prerequisites: SPMA Major, Grade of C- or better in SPMA 101 Notes: Offered periodically in the spring and summer.
