Description: ARTT 112 introduces incoming art and art education majors to the contemporary art world and provides an understanding of what it means to pursue a career in the visual arts. Students will be introduced to critical dialogue, the creative process, professional standards of the field, and portfolio preparation and documentation resulting in the creation of an ePortfolio. Required for all first-year studio art and art education majors. Notes: Lab Fee: $40. Offered only in fall.

Description: An introduction to the art, architecture, and/or visual culture of a particular city, country, or region that culminates in a faculty-led study abroad excursion. Students will view original works of art, architecture, and visual culture in person. Through class discussions, museum and gallery visits, architectural tours, and field trips, students will explore the complex art and cultural histories of a major city, country, or region. Travel fee required. Contact instructor for more details. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.

Description: An internship education experience to provide training for the ARTS major in a professional environment. A maximum of 6 hours of internship education may be applied toward the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Notes: Offered in spring and as needed. Prerequisites: Passing of Specializaton Portfolio Review or special permission of the Chair of Fine Arts.

Description: This course is designed for students interested in athletic training careers. Content includes history, professionalism, requirements for certification, employment settings, and responsibilities of athletic trainers. Notes: Lab Fee: $20. Offered in fall.

Description: Lecture/discussion/demonstration experiences designed to expose students to basic knowledge required of athletic trainers. Content includes history, professionalism, requirements for certification, employment settings, injury classification and terminology, injury prevention, the healing process, basic injury descriptions, initial management of injuries, and athletic training room operations and procedures. Notes: Lab Fee: $20. Offered in fall and spring.
