    Description: Advanced Printmaking will emphasize independent studio practice where students refine their individual printmaking processes and conceptual content. Students will engage in research and development by preparing and executing a thesis body of work. Notes: Offered in fall and spring. Can be taken for a maximum of six semester hours. Prerequisites: ARTS 436 Intermediate Printmaking. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of sophomore status or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts.

A continued study at this level in painting must result in students advancing in the production of an advanced body of work. Notes: Offered in fall and spring. Course may be repeated for a total of 6 credit hours. Prerequisites: Six hours of ARTS 442. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of sophomore status or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts.

All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of sophomore status or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts.

    Description: Expands the knowledge and skill in jewelry and metalsmithing through advanced techniques and the use of alternative materials. Emphasis on individual research, experimentation, and development of personal style resulting in a cohesive body of work. Prerequisites: 6 hours of ARTS 455: Intermediate Jewelry and Metals. Six hours of ARTS 455: Intermediate Jewelry and Metals. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of sophomore status or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts. Notes: Offered in fall and spring. Course may be repeated for a total of 9 credit hours.

    Description: An advanced exploration of video, installation, performance, and digital media with an emphasis on research-based modes of making. Projects are encouraged to be driven by concept rather than medium. This is a directed study seminar, resulting in a cohesive body of work. Prerequisites: ARTS 307, ARTS 324, and 3 credits of either ARTS 407 or ARTS 424. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of sophomore status or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts; or students enrolled in the MFA in Studio Art. Notes: The course may be repeated for a total of 6 credit hours.
