Description: This integrative capstone course focuses on how firms formulate, implement, and evaluate corporate and business strategies for the hospitality industry. Students develop a mastery of the tools used to perform analyses of the industry and competitors, and develop skill at evaluating and implementing strategies to sustain a firm's competitive advantage while generating superior value for customers. Prerequisite: Grade of C- or better in MGMT 360. All MGMT courses above 299 have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102. Notes: Offered periodically.

Broad overview of leadership theories, decision making, personal leadership styles, and current leadership issues. Notes: Offered periodically. Prerequisites: MGMT 321. All MGMT courses have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102.

Description: Seminar in applied business, designed to integrate all subjects of business administration required for business administration majors. A component of the course will be devoted to the assessment of student understanding of the other required core business courses. Students will complete a capstone project that applies ethics, leadership, financial and other concepts covered in this, prerequisite, and corequisite courses. Notes: Open to senior majors in business administration. Offered in spring and periodically in other semesters. Prerequisites: C- or better in BADM 180, FINC 311, MKTG 380, and MGMT 321. All MGMT courses above 299 have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102.

The internship in management provides opportunities for students to integrate course work into practical work settings. This course applies the academic and conceptual to the practical; students supervised by faculty, will work a minimum of 150 hours during a semester or summer term. Notes: BADM majors only. Permission of instructor required. A grade of S or U is recorded. Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA and must have completed MGMT 321 and an additional Management or Human Resources concentration course. For Business Majors only.

Description: A course covering the key principles of performance management and employee development within organizations with an emphasis on applying the principles to contemporary business issues. Prerequisite: Grade of C- or better in MGMT 322, graduate standing or permission of instructor. All MGMT courses above 299 have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102. Notes: Offered in spring.

Recognition, negotiation and administration of labor agreements in the public and private sector. Also covered is the bargaining process in general and human resource management in a union-free environment. Prerequisites: MGMT 321. All MGMT courses have a prerequisite of junior status, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a C- or better in HMXP 102.

Private and public sector employment law with emphasis on labor relations, employment discrimination and current trends in the public policy of regulation of the employment relationship. Prerequisites: Grade of C- or better in MGMT 322, MGMT 323, MGMT 522, and ACCT 280, or graduate standing and MGMT 622, or permission of instructor.
