Students apply engineering knowledge to develop solutions to open-ended biosystems engineering problems. Designs are evaluated by faculty and practicing engineers based on appropriate use of engineering principles, consideration of ecological, economic and societal impacts, and clear communication. A final presentation and report are required. Preq: CE 3410 with a C or higher; and BE 3220 and BE 4100 and BE 4120 and BE 4380. Preq or concurrent enrollment: BE 4150. Coreq: BE 4740.
