This course focuses on understanding youth within cultural contexts. Students gain an understanding of cultural awareness and responsiveness to support youth as they develop to become competent members of a diverse global society. Students explore, assess, and apply theories, methods, strategies, and techniques to apply culturally responsive practices to contemporary social issues faced by diverse groups of youth related to race, ethnicity, ability/disability, gender, sexual orientation and other dimensions of diversity.
