Focuses on instrumentation used in evaluating material and products, inspection and sampling techniques, manufacturing specification, analysis techniques, and control systems found in the printing industries. Prerequisite: ITGRA 180, 181, 182, 183.

Study of the theoretical and practical applications of digital exposure systems within the graphic arts. Advanced skills in the understanding of control, calibration, and monitoring of image-setting and proofing equipment. Color management and the advancements of digital proofing will also be covered. Prerequisite: ITGRA 282.

Designed to provide an understanding of the control, operation, and advancements of the lithographic printing press. Information for both web and sheet fed operations will be included with emphasis on monitoring and controlling printing press characteristics. Prerequisite: ITGRA 180, 182, 282.

Studies the organization and production systems of commercial printing and publishing. Emphasizes management and production systems, quality control, material control scheduling, and production specifications. Class organizes a system and manufactures production jobs during semester. Prerequisite: ITGRA 180, 181, 182, 183.

Color as it relates to digital photography. Emphasis on color theory, digital editing software, and composition principles. Applications to commercial photography, lighting, and the studio are also covered. Prerequisite: ITGRA 286 or ART 231 or JOURN 230 or the equivalent.

A capstone course in printing management that focuses on emerging trends, processes, and technologies in the contemporary printing industry. Students are required to complete a project related to applications in the printing industry. Prerequisite: ITGRA 385.

Examines planning, organization, control, and motivation as they relate to managing a business. Emphasizes human relations decision making, problem solving, and coordination of management, sales, and production for successful management. Prerequisite: ITGRA 381, 385.

An in depth look at complex estimates using information gained in the first estimating course, ITGRA 288. Covers break-even analysis and development of budgeted hourly rates as related to the printing and publishing industries. Prerequisite: ITGRA 288.

Covers production control systems used in the printing and publishing industries. Topics include plant and facility layout, process mapping, decision making, quality control, inventory control, and cost analysis. Prerequisite: ITGRA 385.

Introduction to mechanical design and production drawing. Topics include: sketching, lettering, solid modeling, multiview drawings, isometric drawings, auxiliary and section views, dimensioning and tolerancing, and the creation of working drawings. Unigraphics solid modeling software is the primary design tool used in the laboratory. A weekly laboratory is scheduled.
