The course covers all of the materials and methods of ART 294 and ART 296, but extends the focus to include experimental uses of non-traditional watercolor materials and their expressive potential. Aside from an extended personalized palette, the student is expected to work independently under the direction of the instructor who will encourage an individual direction in choices of subject matter, technique, and materials with the end result being the creation of a body of mature work suitable for portfolio presentation.
