    This course is an introduction to many of the various courses offered in science. Areas include biology, zoology, botany, chemistry, physics, geology, and other related sciences.

    This course is designed as an interdisplinary approach to scientific research. Each student will be responsible for individual research projects which include the research, experimental plan and design, and collection and analysis of field data. A required scientific report will utilize the scientific method offering experience of crosscurricula dimensions including statistical evaluation of research data. Areas of emphasis will include hydrology, agriculture, biology, chemistry, microbiology, and technology.

    This course is designed for the students to apply and complete the scientific method to their research from the previous semesters. The requirements complete the steps of scientific research by teaching the student communication through writing. The course is designed as a "mock publication" to be completed with an oralpresentation. Enrollment is contingent on permission of instructor.

    Prerequisites: Acceptance into Category II and CHEM 1215 Chemistry I w/lab or CHEM 1315 General Chemistry w/lab Prerequisites/Co-requisites: ZOOL 2134 Anatomy w/lab, ENGL 1113 English Composition I and PSY 1113 Elements of Psychology Co-requisite: NURS 1121 Fundamentals of Nursing Clinical Fundamentals of Nursing is a 16-week course that introduces the concepts of the individual, health, and nursing as the dynamic core of the program supported by a human needs framework and developmental principles. The theory component of the course introduces scientific foundations basic to each of the three roles of the associate degree nurse. The campus laboratory provides the opportunity to practice nursing skills in a simulated setting. The course is designed to facilitate attainment of program objectives as stated in the Nursing Student Handbook. If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

Learning experiences in clinical course components stress using each step of the nursing process with increasing skill in a variety of medical-surgical settings. The overall course content is designed to facilitate student acquisition of additional competencies in each of the three roles of the associate degree nurse. The course is designed to facilitate attainment of program objectives as stated in the Nursing Student Handbook. If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

The overall course content is designed to facilitate student acquisition of additional competencies in each of the three roles of the associate degree nurse. The course is designed to facilitate attainment of program objectives as stated in the Nursing Student Handbook. If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

The nursing process, along with the human needs framework and developmental principles, are utilized to organize family-centered care for maternity and pediatric clients. Selected health problems common to maternity and pediatric clients are included in the course. Course content is planned to provide competencies in each of the three roles of the associate degree nurse. The course is designed to facilitate attainment of program objectives as stated in the Nursing Student Handbook. If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

If a passing grade is not obtained in the theory, laboratory and clinical components of the course, the student will not receive a passing grade for any of the components.

    Prerequisite: Acceptable score on the standardized entrance exam and admission to program. This 3 credit hour course is designed to facilitate the transition into the Associate Degree Program for the LPN, EMT, or those with experience in the health care field. The course will focus on the nursing process, skills review, exam success, and critical thinking. These areas are vital for successful completion of the nursing program This course is designed to allow students to demonstrate proficiency in the attainment of course objectives and outcomes found in the course entered (NURS 1224, NURS 1234, or NURS 2131)
