An introduction to various investment media such as bonds, stocks, mutual funds, commodities, options, and futures primarily from the viewpoint of the individual investor. Topics will include: sources of information, security markets and laws, fundamental and technical analysis, portfolio theory, risk vs. return, and efficient market concepts. This course normally offered in the spring semester only.

3 hours--Prereq.: 3113 or departmental approval. This introductory course in bank management provides an overview of commercial bank management. Topics include: bank services, organizations and regulatory environment; asset and liability management; bank capital, cash assets, and the competition for funds; managing the investment portfolio; extending credit to business and individuals, international banking; trust services; and bank mergers and acquisitions. This course normally offered in the fall semester only.

A survey of the major areas of insurance such as fire, transportation, casualty, and life insurance, and fidelity and surety bonds and their application to business organizations.
