The literature and key figures working in the area of literacy; the Literacy Volunteers of America certified training in Basic Reading Tutor Training. Research into the problem of illiteracy. Weekly inservice practice in a neighborhood literacy center. EDRE 296 is offered as part of the reading program and as an E/RS Focus elective course. Pre-requisite: PHIL 100, THEO 111; Co-requisite: PHIL 100, THEO 111. This course cannot be used towards the Reading Endorsement K-12.
