This course covers background, techniques, and case studies in project management particularly focused on engineering technology applications. The student will develop a fundamental understanding of the concepts for managing both small and large projects. Discussion, evaluation, and presentation skills will be enhanced. Some of the specific topics to be covered include: Gantt charts, PERT charts, project life-cycle, budgeting, cost analysis, break-even analysis, conflict resolution, organization tools, project planning, statistical process control, and other selected quality improvement tools. Microsoft Project? and Microsoft Excel? will be used as software tools throughout the course. Prerequisite: ECO 201 or 202 or permission of instructor. Corequisite: STA 301, 368, or equivalent.
