Introduces junior high and high school biology teachers to laboratory approaches used by microbiologists for understanding infectious diseases and pathogens that cause them. Fosters firsthand understanding of the research basis for and the investigative nature of, clinical microbiology and assists in development of insight into how microorganisms cause infectious diseases.
