(Fall, Course Offered Every Year) A study of twentieth century fiction, autobiography, and drama from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America, emphasizing historical backgrounds of the works. Readings will focus on traditional cultures and conflicts with modernism including major historical issues of colonialism, imperialism, war, revolution, feminism, and technology. When linked with HIS 103 this course fulfills the CORE 200 requirement. This course meets the general education literature requirement. Prerequisite: ENG-111.
