Emphasis is placed on the aging process as it applies to normal developmental changes and alterations in health commonly occurring in the older adult. Upon completion, students should be able to apply the nursing process in caring for the older adult. Clinical practice assignments will reflect the scope of practice for which the student is preparing.

Upon completion, students should be able to utilize the nursing process to deliver nursing care to mothers, infants, children, and families.

Upon completion, students should be able to apply the nursing process to individuals experiencing acute and chronic alterations in health.

Emphasis is placed on the nurse's role as a member of a multidisciplinary team and as a manager of care for a group of individuals. Upon completion, students should be able to provide comprehensive nursing care for groups of individuals with common complex alterations in health. Learning experiences focus on collaboration with multidisciplinary health care team members to provide uninterrupted client care in a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and home settings.
