A survey and examination of theory, research and applications of both classical and contemporary approaches to the study of human personality. The course will explore the manner in which personality is organized and expressed, and how it influences the way the individual relates to the social world. Students will also examine the contributions of genetic and environmental influences that collectively determine personality. Prerequisite: PSYC 111. Offered: Spring.

A survey of the scientific study of the thinking mind. Cognitive psychology includes the study of pattern recognition, attention, memory, representation of knowledge, language, problem-solving, creativity, and decision-making. Practical and personal applications will be discussed. Offered: Fall.

A study of human anatomy and physiology with a clinical emphasis in cardio-pulmonary, nervous, renal and all other systems. Laboratory component includes basic clinical procedures such as pulmonary function studies, electrocardiogram, vital signs, etc. Prerequisites: BIOL 123 and BIOL 123L. Permission required. Introduction to basic respiratory care techniques. Includes history, ethics and professional organizations. This clinical course introduces the student to patient assessment pulmonary function testing, acid-base balance, arterial blood gases, chest radiography and cardiac diagnostics. Prerequisite: RAST 112L. Corequisite: RAST 115L. Offered: Occasionally.
