A writing workshop that builds on and refines the writing skills acquired in ENGL 111 and ENGL 112. The course focuses on non-fiction prose for the professions with a special emphasis on the essay. Through analysis and revision, students develop personal strategies to improve fluency, clarity, maturity and content. One goal of the course is the development on the article of publishable quality. Writing assignments are individualized to meet each student's interests. This course does not satisfy general studies requirements in the humanities. Prerequisite: ENGL 112 or ENGL 216.
