This is a physical acti vity course designed to familiarize the student with the basic yoga asanas (postures) and breathing techniques of Hatha Yoga. Yoga is a slow stretching and toning acti vity designed to help release stress while elongati ng muscles to give them a longer, leaner look. Yoga can help strengthen secondary and postural muscles not usually used by individuals, therefore making them more fl exible and stronger in everyday life. Breathing practi ces and body awareness techniques designed to relax and revitalize the mind and body are included. This is a one credit hour course.

This is a physical educati on theory course that provides instructi on about the foundati ons of physical educati on, aims, objecti ves, scope, and general signifi cance of physical educati on involving all age groups. This is a three credit hour course.

This is a physical educati on theory course that provides instructi on for the student who has not had sports health, athleti c training and/or sports medicine educati on previously. This course provides instructi on in the preventi on, care of, and rehabilitati on of athleti c injuries. This is a three credit hour course.

This is a physical educati on acti vity course designed to prepare, moti vate, and engage students in various low to medium impact aerobic exercises. Conditi oning Aerobics is structured to increase cardiovascular fi tness, build muscular strength and endurance through safe and specifi c body conditi oning exercises. Overall fl exibility should increase through stati c and rhythmic stretching. Parti cipants will be encouraged to develop individual health improvement strategies and will be taught the skills to reach personal fi tness goals. This is a one credit hour course.

Students are given the opportunity to uti lize diff erent areas for fi tness such as cardiovascular training, multi -gym weight training, and free-weight training under the guidance and supervision of a physical educati on professor. This is a one credit hour course.

Anaerobic, fl exibility, and stretching acti viti es will also be included. Step Aerobics is structured to increase cardiovascular fi tness, build muscular strength and endurance through safe and specifi c body conditi oning movements. Parti cipants will be encouraged to develop individual health improvement strategies and will be taught the skills to reach personal fi tness goals. This is a one credit hour course.

This is a physical educati on acti vity course designed to acquaint individuals with basic skills and elements of Kajukenbo karate in a non-inti midati ng, yet disciplined atmosphere. This course will include warm-up, stretching, and practi ce drills. In additi on to techniques, simple strikes, kicks, and falls will also be a part of this class. Understanding of proper eti quett e, terminology, and related concepts will be assessed throughout the course. This is a one credit hour course.
