This course is a study of the legal aspects of personal and real property ownership. It will include bailments and the basics of probate. It is also an analysis of common real estate transacti ons such as deeds, leases, mortgages, foreclosure, ti tle search, encroachment surveys, easements, liens, and landlord/tenant relati ons. This course will focus on topics that will include divorce, separati on, custody, adopti on, guardianship, support, sett lement agreements in compliance with statutes, and draft ing documents. Also included in this course will be aspects of the administrati ve agencies that aff ect the modern family, from spousal abuse to juvenile justi ce. This is a three credit hour course.
