This course is a conti nuati on of FM 211, FM 212, FM 214, and FM 224 and includes work experience in a cooperati ng Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealership. Student will work as a trainee under the supervision of an experienced Ford automoti ve technician. Each student must be offi cially accepted into the Ford ASSET program according to Ford and NMJC entrance requirement policies. This is a four credit hour course.

This course covers the operati on, diagnosis, service, and repair of Ford Motor Company's suspension and steering systems. Areas of instructi on include front and rear suspension, wheel, ti res, steering, wheel alignment, and associated hydraulic and electronic management systems. Each student must be offi cially accepted into the Ford ASSET program according to Ford and NMJC entrance requirement policies. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisite: FM 124B Electronics II.

GE 114 Physical Geology This course will study earth materials including the origin of minerals and rocks, erosion and depositi on, earth movements and mountain building, volcanism, earth resources, oceans, and meteorology. Concurrent enrollment in GE114L (laboratory) is required. This is a four credit hour course.

This course will include a chronological study of the history and development of life on earth. Topics will include the formati on of the oceans and atmospheres, fossils, and evoluti on of dinosaurs, and animal life. Concurrent enrollment in GE124L (laboratory) is required. This is a four credit hour course.

This course is designed as an introductory geographic survey arranged around the following major regions: the United States and Canada, Lati n America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Africa-South of the Sahara, Russia and the Eurasian States of the Former Soviet Union, Asia-East by South, and Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacifi c Islands. Emphasis is placed upon an analysis of the natural environment, cultural environment, populati on status, economic development, and potenti als. This is a three credit hour course.

This course is an introducti on to the computer technology skills required of automoti ve technicians. Areas of instructi on include basic computer operati ons, the installati on and use of soft ware, navigati on of Windows and related applicati ons, the use of electronic service informati on, programming diagnosti c devices, and the reprogramming of vehicle on-board computers. Also included is instructi on in the sending and receiving of electronic mail (e-mail), and basic Internet applicati ons. This is a three credit hour course.

This course is an introducti on to the servicing of GM vehicles. Areas of instructi on include the selecti on and use of GM service publicati ons, the interpretati on of VIN Codes, body styles and car lines, the correct methods of fi lling out repair orders, and the safe and correct use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and equipment. Open to ASEP students only. This is a four credit hour course.

Student will work as a trainee under the supervision of an experienced General Motors automoti ve technician. Open to GM ASEP students only. Minimum of twenty hours of work per week is required. This is a four credit hour course.
