This course is an introducti on to the computer technology skills required of automoti ve technicians. Areas of instructi on include basic computer operati ons, the installati on and use of soft ware, navigati on of Windows and related applicati ons, the use of electronic service informati on, the use of PC-based diagnosti c equipment, programming diagnosti c devices, and the reprogramming of vehicle on-board computers. Also included is instructi on in the sending and receiving of electronic mail (e-mail), and basic Internet applicati ons. This is a three credit hour course.

This course is an introducti on to the servicing of Ford Motor Company vehicles. Areas of instructi on include the selecti on and use of Ford service publicati ons, the interpretati on of VIN Codes, body styles and car lines, repair order processing, the safe and correct use of hand tools, and precision measuring instruments and equipment. Specifi c on-vehicle instructi on for pre-delivery operati ons, campaign procedures, basic service operati ons for wind noise and water leaks, and engine cooling and lubricati on systems are also covered. Each student must be offi cially accepted into the Ford ASSET program according to Ford and NMJC entrance requirement policies. This is a four credit hour course.

This course is a conti nuati on of FM 114 and FM 124 and includes work experience in a cooperati ng Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealership. Student will work as a trainee under the supervision of an experienced Ford automoti ve technician. Open to Ford ASSET students only. This is a four credit hour course.

This is the fi rst of two courses providing instructi on on the electrical and electronic systems used on Ford Motor Company cars and light trucks sold in North America. Areas of instructi on include safety, electrical and electronic fundamentals, analog and digital test equipment, basic circuit diagnosis, interpretati on and use of wiring diagrams and service manuals, and component operati on. Also included are general electrical system diagnosis and repair along with focused diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of the batt ery, starti ng, and charging systems. Each student must be offi cially accepted into the Ford ASSET program according to Ford and NMJC entrance requirement policies. This is a four credit hour course.

This is the fi rst of three courses providing instructi on in Ford Motor Company vehicle systems that infl uence engine performance and drivability. Areas of instructi on include related safety, gasoline engine operati on and performance, igniti on systems, fuel systems, inducti on systems, vacuum control systems and vacuum/mechanical emission control systems. The major emphasis of this course is to provide a solid foundati on for later indepth instructi on in Electronic Engine Control systems. Each student must be offi cially accepted into the Ford ASSET program according to Ford and NMJC entrance requirement policies. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisite: FM 124B Electronics II
