1.00 Credits
This course prepares the student for the nati onally recognized AutoCAD certi fi cati on test. The certi fi cati on is 2-dimensional Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD). The student will uti lize certi fi cati on preparati on soft ware. This is a one credit hour course. Prerequisites: EG 224 Advanced Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD) or permission from the instructor
-
2.00 Credits
This course will provide students with the basic knowledge to read an engineering drawing as uti lized by technicians. The student will be introduced to print reading, electrical single lines and schemati cs, and electronic diagrams and schemati cs. This is a two credit hour course.
-
3.00 Credits
This course introduces the principles of draft ing. Draft ing terminology, fundamentals, draft ing techniques and skills, lett ering, size and shape descripti ons, projecti on methods, geometric constructi on, secti ons, auxiliary views, and reproducti on processes will be included. This is a three credit hour course.
-
3.00 Credits
This course is off ered as an introducti on to Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD) soft ware. Assignments incorporate computer soft ware and hardware as applied to architectural, mechanical, and interior design/draft ing. Concepts will include setup, creati ng and modifying geometry; storing and retrieving predefi ned shapes; placing, rotati ng, and scaling objects; adding text and dimensions; and using layers, coordinate systems, and plotti ng/printi ng to scale. Detailed drawings of secti ons, elevati ons, and fl oor plans will be produced. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisite: EG 113 or consent of instructor
-
3.00 Credits
An introductory course covering the creati on of 3-dimensional objects and animati on using 3D Studio Viz. The course will cover the necessary skills to become profi cient in working with 3-dimensional objects and animati on. The course will cover creati ng a scene, creati ng shapes, modifying splines, loft ing objects, twisti ng objects, creati ng curved paths, deformati on tools, creati ng objects, materials, and 3-dimensional animati on and rendering. This is a three credit hour course.
-
3.00 Credits
This is a study of the design process as applied to fabricati on and introduces computer assisted manufacturing (CAM) soft ware as an expansion of the design process. This course requires the use of a graphics-based language to create basic geometric elements. Geometric elements are used to create tool/cutt er paths necessary to establish machining coordinates for CNC (Conti nuous Numeric Control) machining mill. Prerequisite: EG 123 or Consent of Instructor. This is a three credit hour course.
-
2.00 Credits
This course off ers students a real life residenti al constructi on experience through parti cipati on in a team competi ti on. Students will demonstrate problem-solving skills by preparing a soluti on through documents, which include the development of working drawings, a labor and materials esti mate, and a constructi on schedule. Problems will emphasize analyti cal and aestheti c design and presentati on skills. This is a two credit hour course. Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor
-
3.00 Credits
This advanced course in computer assisted design uses industry standard soft ware to present building informati on models through producti on of fl oor plans, secti ons, elevati ons, details, plot plans, schedules, and perspecti ve renderings. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisite: EG123 Introducti on to Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD)
-
4.00 Credits
This advanced course covers the creati on of 3-dimensional objects and animati on using 3D Studio Viz and AutoCAD. Importi ng AutoCAD 2-dimensional drawings into 3D Studio Viz, 2-dimensional drawing translati on into 3-dimensional format and the creati on of an animated walk through will be covered in this course. The exporti ng of 3-dimensional objects into AutoCAD drawing format will be covered. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisites: EG 123C 3-Dimensional Animati on (3D Studio Viz) and EG 224A Advanced Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD) or permission from the instructor
-
4.00 Credits
Introducti on to the Micro stati on soft ware for Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD) and comparison to the AutoCAD soft ware. Contrasts between the two CAD packages will be covered as well as drawing fi le interchange. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisites: EG 123 Introducti on to Computer Assisted Draft ing (CAD) or permission from the instructor
