This course studies major plumbing systems of building constructi on. It includes administrati on, defi niti ons, and general regulati ons. Fixtures, faucets, fi xture fi tti ngs, water heaters, water supply and distributi on, sanitary drainage, indirect/special waste, vents, traps, interceptors, separators, storm drainage, special piping and storage systems are emphasized. This is a four credit hour course.

This course is a conti nuati on of CT 153C. It includes energy effi ciency, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and referenced standards. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisite: CT 153C

4.00 Credits
The goals, working relati onships, safety, material handling, and common tools used in sprinkler fi tti ng are explained. It covers procedures for determining pipe length, and how to groove pipe and install fi tti ngs. The handling, storage requirements, and tools used to assemble CPVC systems are also discussed. The course identi fi es the types of copper tube and fi tti ngs approved for use in fi re sprinkler systems and how to solder and braze joints. It also discusses properti es and classifi cati ons of soils, sloping requirements, excavati on support systems, and backfi lling requirements. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisite: CT 112

This course is an overview of building the human environment. It includes an introducti on to the constructi on industry, types of constructi on, regulati ons, patt erns as a concept, methods, and the constructi on process. This is a three credit hour course.

This course introduces various types of sprinklers used in the fi re protecti on industry and identi fi es and explains fusing elements, sprinkler orientati on, spray patt erns, and fi nishes of various sprinklers. It identi fi es and explains standard sprinklers and the diff erences in water distributi on patt erns, the locati on, area of coverage, spacing, and positi oning requirements. The limitati ons of special sprinklers along with electrical safety are discussed. The various types of valves used in the industry and their applicati ons as well as maintenance and installati on are presented. Wet fi re sprinkler systems and dry-pipe systems are both explained. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisite: CT 164P

This course covers basic air conditi oning and refrigerati on fundamentals. It includes air conditi oning and refrigerati on cycle, measuring temperature and pressures, mechanical refrigerati on cycle, types of systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, metering devices, controls, refrigerati on cycle accessories, and refrigerati on service techniques. This is a four credit hour course. Prerequisites or co-requisites: CT 112, CT 111F

This class is a general introducti on to the art of theatre. The aestheti c, practi cal, and historical dimensions in the unifi ed work of theatre producti on are explored. Various aspects of study include acti ng, directi ng, theatre architecture, set design, dramati c theory, and theatre history. Students will have the opportunity to study this art form from its known origins to modern day. This is a three credit hour course.
