    This course will provide students with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Instructi onal topics will include creati ng, editi ng, printi ng, and uti lizing commands within Microsoft Word and charti ng, graphic presentati ons, formulas, calculati ons, and advanced functi ons within Microsoft Excel. This is a two credit hour course.

    This course provides students with the necessary training to develop database applicati ons with Microsoft Access. MS Access provides techniques for managing large amounts of data and providing sorts, queries, and reports to guide decision making in a variety of setti ngs. The focus of this class is to explore and exercise the purpose and functi ons within a database and use the data to maximize business operati ons. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisite: CS 123D or previous experience with a relati onal database

    This is an introductory course on using the Internet and a discussion of issues surrounding the Internet. Course topics include an elementary explanati on of how networks work, discussions of the problems and promises of living in a networked world, the use of the Internet for electronic mail, fi le transfer and informati on searching, Internet hardware and soft ware requirements, Internet tools, bulleti n boards, newsgroups, chat rooms, fi le compression, and fi le types. The intent of this course is to help you learn the fundamentals of the Internet, the usage of the Internet and create an awareness of the issues and potenti al changes in our society aff ected by the World Wide Web.     This course will provide an overview of ethics as well as the ethical ramifi cati ons of major topics in informati on technology. The course is designed to educate existi ng and future business managers and IT professionals on the tremendous impact ethical issues play in the use of informati on technology in the modern business world and will present key points that must be considered when making a business decision. The course is a three credit hour class. Prerequisites: CS 123A, CS 123D, or CS 113C

    This course introduces the paraprofessional to technology integrati on in the instructi onal environment. It will be conducted in a laboratory/applicati ons environment and will uti lize "hands-on" learning. Concepts which will becovered include microcomputer concepts, PowerPoint, Word applicati ons, spreadsheet applicati ons, Internet integrati on, Web-site uti lizati on, Multi - Media presentati on tools including but not limited to digital video cameras, LCD players, scanners, media projectors, Elmos, Smartboards, VCR, and overhead projecti on for student learning. The student must successfully demonstrate a practi cal skill level in integrati on of technology in instructi onal strategies to support diverse learners. The paraprofessional, upon completi on of this course, will be able to support the teacher/educator in the classroom environment in the various aspects of technology integrati on. This is a three credit hour course.

    This course is designed to teach students how to operate a microcomputer. Students will be taught how to perform such functi ons as "booti ng the system," formatti ng disks, and copying fi les within the windows environment. Students will also be taught basic computer terminology and the fundamentals of word processing, spreadsheets, database, and PowerPoint uti lizing the Microsoft Offi ce Suite soft ware. This is a three credit hour course.

    This course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of Excel, including the spreadsheet, graphics, windows, database functi ons, and macro design. The student will gain extensive hands-on experience in each facet of Excel. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or higher in CS 123D Windows Applicati ons I orconsent of the instructor

    This course provides an introducti on to object oriented, event driven business applicati on programming and graphical user interfaces in the windows environment. This course is designed to focus on the fundamental concepts of computer programming. Students will be taught the program development cycle and general problem solving techniques. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisites: Student must be eligible to enroll in MA 113 or have the consent of instructor. Prior enrollment in CS 113 is recommended.
