This transition course is designed for the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) returning to school to obtain an Associate Degree in Nursing. Emphasis is placed on self-reflection regarding professional experiences and knowledge as the student begins the role transition from that of being an LPN to RN. The course builds on previous learning and experiences to enhance student expertise in the nursing process, communication, and teaching that is necessary in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Skills uncommonly used at the LPN level are reviewed through a laboratory simulation.
