Basic audio and studio video production techniques and processes; studio operations, microphones, audio editing, talent selection and use, portable audio equipment, production planning/ budgeting, cameras, lighting, new telecommunications technologies.

Basic field video production techniques, processes, and systems; cameras, lenses, mounting equipment, picture composition, videotape editing, audio recording and editing; field lighting, on-camera talent use, multimedia production considerations.

Lec. Prereq: Junior standing; BRDC 227; JOUR 203; 2.75 GPA. Production track course. Planning, shooting and editing video for different styles of video production. Composition, continuity, sequencing, and technique.

Lec 3. Prereq: Junior standing; BRDC 228; 2.75 GPA. BRDC 360 is a production track course. Writing scripts, gathering information, and preparing written material as an integral part of the standard production process.

Lec. Prereq: BRDC 359 and 360; 2.75 GPA. Capstone course in the production track. Produce a weekly thirty-minute magazine-style television show and direct a live thirty-minute television newscast. Complete sophisticated video and audio programs for each of the shows and prepare demo tapes to present to prospective employers.
