Students will gain understanding of basic methods utilized by geneticists and learn to critically analyze published data. Reading the discussions related to ethical, social, political and economic issues will help assess the impact of current developments in genetics. Research on a selected topic leading to an oral presentation and a term paper will provide opportunities for synthesis. The student will gain an understanding of biological and physiological changes associated with aging in various organ systems.
