The instruments will be demonstrated and mastered as part of the course. Methods and materials available to the classroom teacher for remediation reading difficulties are also a focus of this course. Pre-service students are required to work with elementary school students in a classroom setting and/or one on one for 32 hours of combined assessment and remedial tutoring in a school setting during regularly scheduled course hours set reserved for this purpose.
