This course consists of classroom, clinical laboratory, and geriatric clinical components. Upon completion of this course, the student will be prepared to function at a beginning level of nursing and provide a foundation for nursing education. (F)

Reactions to stress, anxiety, physical, and psychological trauma are examined. Students increase their knowledge and understanding of human relations to assist in providing holistic patient care. (F)

Prerequisite: Admission to Bi-Level Nursing Program Corequisite: PNE141 Growth and Development Across the Life Span introduces the student to patterns of growth and normal developmental stages across the life span. Family relationships, health maintenance, and health problems are discussed for each developmental stage. Reflecting the aging population, emphasis will be placed on the elderly client and the role of the nurse providing care in a variety of settings. (F)
