This course is designed to broaden the student's awareness of the cognitive knowledge and skill necessary to effectively interact with and/or serve a culturally diverse population. This course will focus on contemporary issues of gender, class, race, sexual orientation, religious and ethnic experiences in American life. The course will develop skills in recognizing diversity within social systems from a tri-dimensional perspective: individual, group and organizational. This course requires a student to understand the organizational and managerial aspects of cultural diversity in order to compete within the workplace and within our global world. Prerequisite: SOC 101.
