This course provides general knowledge of oral pathological manifestations associated with selected systemic and oral diseases. Topics will include an introduction to preliminary diagnosis of oral lesions, infl ammation and repair, the immune system, developmental disorders, genetics, and oral manifestations of systemic diseases. Upon completion, students should be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal tissues and refer unusual fi nding to the dentist for diagnosis. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher in all of the previous Dental Hygiene courses.

This course provides a study of the principles and methods used in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating community dental health programs. Attitudes and behaviors necessary to promote dental disease prevention through organized community-based programs will also be discussed. Upon completing the course, students should be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a community dental health program. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher inall of the previous Dental Hygiene courses.

This course is the fi nal course in the clinical Dental Hygiene sequence. It is designed to enable the student to incorporate all the techniques and treatment modalities previously acquired involving total patient care. Emphasis will be placed on review of Dental Hygiene courses, continuation of special needs patients, offi ce management skills, and forensic dental hygiene. Upon completion of the course, the student will present a patient case presentation and will be prepared to take national, regional, and state Board examinations. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher in all of the previousDental Hygiene courses.

Prerequisite: Grade of "C" orhigher in all of the previous Dental Hygiene courses.
