Topics covered in the course include: basic physics, mechanical advantages and energy conversions of the equipment used in industry. This course covers almost any mechanical device such as gear drives; belt drives, and chain drives. Also covered are measurement tools (coarse and precision) that are used by the craft person. Shaft alignment will be introduced using teh dial indicator and laser beam methods. Hands-on training will be used for alignment and gearing installation and removal.
