Basic blueprint symbols used in the piping trade will be used and explained throughout the course.

This course provides participants with essential knowledge and skills that will enable them to perform the basic duties of the rigger. The first portion of the course will include oxy-fuel burning applications. Students will review the hazards of oxy-fuel burning, in addition to inspect, install, and troubleshoot the system. Lab exercises will enable students to produce quality cuts in addition to specialized burning applications. The subsequent sessions are dedicated to selection, care, inspection, and proper use of lifting equipment to include common slings and rigging hardware. Methods for determining load weights and load center of gravity are also included.
