This course will examine the origins, philosophies, tactics, events, personalities, and consequences of the southern civil Rights Movement. This course will begin with the struggles of black veterans to register to vote after WWII and will conclude with the Meredith March Against Fear in 1966. Credit: three semester hours.

This course will provide a broad introduction to the history of the Middle Ease. This course will geographically define the Middle East; examine the legacies of foreign powers in the region. (including the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, Europeans, and Americans) and will examine the important role that religions ( Judaism, Christianity, and Islam)have played in the region. This course will also examine the late nineteenth and twentieth century developments that have led to current conflicts in the Middle East. Three semester hours. Offered every other academic year.

A survey of historical developments in East Asia. Focus will be on the recent history of China and Japan, with some coverage of Korea, Vietnam and other countries in the region. CREDIT THREE SEMESTER HOURS.
