This course seeks to provide a greater knowledge about the nature of learning disabilities and proven methods for enhancing academic and social success for the learning disabled person. This course offers a comprehensive coverage of the field. Through many theories and practices it presents a balanced approach to teaching learning disabled individuals. Practicum is required. This course is the experience of the full teaching day under the supervision of a cooperating teacher and the director of student teaching. It is a fifteen (15) week program. Prerequisite: Completion of all other education courses and ALL parts of the PRAXIS (Reading, Writing, and Mathematics; PLT; and Content Area) must be taken and passed prior to entering the field.
