The externship course is designed to provide nursing students with an opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and enhance their skills in the practice of nursing under the direct supervision of a preceptor while earning monetary compensation. The program is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to gain experience in clinical practice in a particular area in preparation for transition from the role of nursing student to the role of registered nurse. Prerequisites- NUR 1119 and NUR 1129. SCH 3: Clinical, 40 hours per week or as clinical agency requires.
