The computer competency exam acts as a skills certification procedure and is offered by the Computer Science Department in order to certify that ICC students have the computer skills necessary to be considered computer-competent. In order to pass this requirement, students will demonstrate basic familiarity with computer terminology, hardware, operating systems and file concepts; demonstrate working knowledge of a word processor, spread sheet and presentation application (MS Office); and demonstrate working knowledge of the World Wide Web (WWW) and electronic mail. In order to demonstrate knowledge and skills in these areas, students will be asked to complete a five-part exam along with a presentation project.
