This course covers the functions of MS Word for Windows. The student will create/edit/format documents, create tables, use headers and footers, page/section breaks, footnotes/endnotes, use mail merge features, work with multiple column documents, styles, and templates, and insert and edit graphics and integrate databases and spreadsheets. Prerequisites: ADS 1007, GSCI 1302 or concurrent enrollment

This course is designed to give students advanced skills in using Microsoft Word. The course will address such topics as mail merge, forms and fields, macros, pictures and text boxes, desktop publishing of one-page and multi-page documents, advanced tables and worksheets, charts, workgroup editing, e-mail and online collaboration, footnotes and endnotes, indexes and tables of contents and master documents. Mastering the content in this course will prepare a student to take the Expert level MOUS certification test. Prerequisite: ADS 2030

This course is designed to provide the student with a purposeful occupational experience in the administrative support field. Each internship is an individualized experience related to the skills and knowledge acquired in the program.

This course covers the resources available in a legal office to find the law. Resources for legal research stressed include texts, computerized research, and Internet access to legal information. The course also covers the procedures followed on appeal and citation usage. Prerequisites: ADS 1200, ADS 1201

This course covers the accounting aspect of management of the medical office. Topics covered include banking, accounts payable, collections, payroll, inventory, accounts receivable activities and responsibilities. Students will perform a medical accounts simulation utilizing paper and electronic techniques. Prerequisite: ADS 1320 or instructor approval

Concepts of soil formation, soil types, soil conservation, soil and water relationships, soil fertility, and basic soil chemistry are discussed. Soil test information provided by the student will be used to develop fertility plans which utilize various sources of fertility such as crop rotations, manure, and chemical fertilizers.

Plant growth and development of Monocot and Dicot plants; basic plant anatomy and growth stages; methods of plant reproduction and seed production; plant genetics, basic plant physiology; photosynthesis; respiration, and plant response to weather and other environmental factors.

An overview of the dairy industry. Dairy cattle anatomy, physiology, genetics, corrective mating, linear evaluation, reproduction and records.

Artificial insemination of dairy and beef cattle; training on live cows; taught by an artificial insemination company representative. Equipment lease service fee.

This course covers on-site evaluation of dairy management including business, housing, feeding, equipment, cattle, and milking equipment.
