This course is designed to provide on-the-job experience. The student will be assigned to work in a physician's office for a total of 200 hours. The student will work under the supervision of office personnel doing tasks pertinent to the student's program curriculum.

This course covers techniques for performing basic manual and automated hematology tests. These include hemoglobin, hematocrit, cell counts, red cell indices, preparation of blood smears, differential counts, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and coagulation testing. Prerequisite: MEDA 1225

This course focuses on medical lab procedures for blood chemistry and medical microbiology. These include use of blood glucose monitors, measurement of chemical analytes in blood serum, inoculation and handling of cultures, Gram stain technique, and identification of common microorganisms. Prerequisite: MEDA 1225

Students will configure their laptop, learn to customize it, to install/uninstall software, manage data files, software, hard disk and hardware, and to log on to the Internet and the intranet. They will set up back up procedures and troubleshoot problems with both Windows and Macintosh systems and other components to get the best performance from their computer.

This course enables students to begin screen design as they discover design and typographics principles utilizing presentation software. Students will learn to add builds, choose the right type of chart or graph, use transitions as well as make design work for them as they create high-impact presentations.

Students will be introduced to type terminology, computer and printer fonts, and font installation and management. In addition to learning typographic tips and techniques, they will utilize fonts on the computer and in the printing process on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Color management will be explored as it relates to the computer monitor display, the printer, and pre-press publishing. Students will obtain images through scanning to create one-color, twocolor and four-color projects in image editing and a vector graphics program. Color psychology is also explored.

This course provides an introduction to vector-based, image editing, and three-dimensional software used in the design fields. Students will learn the basics of creating vector and raster graphics, utilizing file formats, along with a basic understanding of 3-D software.

Create desktop video with Adobe Premiere. Students will assemble and edit clips, add transitions, use filters and motion setting, create super-impositions and titles in creating videos. In addition, they will learn hardware set-up, capturing techniques, and video compression schemes as they output their pieces to videotape.

2.00 Credits
This course is designed to give students the basic skills they need to design their own web pages. Students are given the skills they need to write, understand, and use HTML code in the creation of web pages. Course content addresses topics such as the use of HTML coding, HTML versions, browser differences, page layout, and design elements. In addition students will navigate the World Wide Web and understand how web pages are designed. This is done through the use of textbook study and hands-on structured labs assigned by the instructor. Prerequisite: MMDT 1001, Corequisite: MMDT 1001
