This course is designed to transition the learner's knowledge of billing and coding concepts to billing and coding in a hospital environment. The course provides an introduction to the hospital environment, billing process, and reimbursement methodologies. Discussion on the relationship between billing, coding, documentation, claims forms and reimbursement is presented to provide an overall view of the connection between various elements in the billing process. Prerequisites: ADMM1150, ADMM1160, ADMM1165.

This course provides a comprehensive review of topics including coverage of anatomy, medical terminology, pathophysiology, as well as concepts, guidelines, and rules of medical coding. It also provides the necessary tools to understand how to break each case down and translate services, procedures, and diagnoses into the most appropriate codes for reimbursement.
