1.50 Credits
Dakota County Technical College
This hands-on course is designed to immerse GM technicians in GM's diagnostic approach for the appropriate, efficient diagnosis of vehicle concerns today and into the future. Course content includes a comprehensive review of Strategy Based Diagnosis (SBD) and Diagnostic System Check ' Vehicle, as outlined in GM Service Information documents. This course focuses on developing a thoughtful strategic approach to the diagnostic process through practice, not presentation. Activities are designed to guide technicians with clear expectations and challenging questions. Workstations are designed to promote an understanding of intrusive electrical diagnostic skills. Faults set within vehicles are done so to create symptoms that require thoughtful diagnostic and testing approaches. Locating the fault at a workstation may NOT be the required end result, but rather, practicing the diagnostic approach to identify the fault is the primary objective.
