Span 1111 will focus on Pre-Columbian civilizations that existed before the arrival of the Spaniards, including the Olmec, Maya, Toltec and Aztec civilizations. The destruction of the Pre-Columbian civilizations by the Conquistadors will also be analyzed. This course is taught in English; no previous knowledge of Spanish is required.

The second goal is to increase proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening in Spanish. This course reviews the more difficult aspects of grammar, with emphasis upon the indicative.
