Prerequisite: This is a capstone course in which the student searches independently, with assistance from the Coordinator of Work-based Learning, for a business or industry related to the program in which he/she is enrolled to complete 48 hours per credit of a specified project or objectives. The student will be placed, supervised, and evaluated under the direction of a college staff member to insure a meaningful internship experience. This course will cover an in-depth study, and hands on practice of Oxy-Fuel, Plasma, and Air Carbon Arc cutting, gouging, and scarfing. [Semesters Offered: Variable]

    Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in WELD 159, WELD 165, WELD 166, WELD 265; and minimum grade of C in READ 100 or satisfactory test score. The course is structured using AWS D1.1 code requirements and will cover Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on ferrous and non-ferrous pipe. This course fulfills pipe welding knowledge and application within AWS SENSE Program Advanced Level Welder Certification requirements. The successful completion of this course, and its objectives, do not necessarily result in AWS (American Welding Society) Certification. Welder certification is dependant upon written test scores and weld/layout conformance of your workmanship sample, per desired process. AWS welder certification is independant of the letter grade received in this course. (Semesters Offered: Variable)

Prerequisite: This course provides the fundamental principles of weld testing and inspection.
