Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in WELD 159, WELD 235, WELD 265, INTE 140; a minimum grade of C in either WELD 165 or WELD 166 or WELD 167; a minimum grade of C in WELD 277 and WELD 279, concurrent enrollment allowed; and minimum grade of C in READ 100 or satisfactory test score. This course will administer the written examinations and performance testing in accordance with requirements of AWS SENSE QC10 and AWS EG2.0, for each student's choice of welding process. All individuals that meet the specified performance criteria will be awarded an AWS SENSE Program Welder certification. The successful completion of this course does not necessarily result in AWS (American Welding Society) Certification. AWS Welder certification is dependant upon written test scores and weld/layout conformance of the workmanship sample, per desired process. AWS welder certification is independent of the letter grade received in this course. All students who achieve certification are individually responsible for the $15.00 processing fee, paid directly to the American Welding Society. Students seeking multiple process specific certifications may enroll for this course multiple times with the recommendation of the program advisor. [Semesters Offered: Variable]
